The following is an idea of some of the things the dogs at Whitehall have
being through and why they need a second chance:
Sadie was only four months old when her owner decided that they no longer wanted her. That freezing cold November night Sadie was taking to a bridge and thrown onto the dual carriage-way below. An ex-police officer later found Sadie with both front legs stuck in a grate at the side of the road. He promptly phoned his friend Mr Brian Wheelhouse who came as quick as he could. It took them around half an hour to free her. They then took Sadie to Abbey House Veterinary Hospital where the vet on duty gave Sadie a poor prognosis. They discovered she had a broken front and hind leg, a punctured lung, fluid on her chest which was pushing on her heart, she was also suffering from hypothermia and shock.
Sadie came away from this with only 3 legs but is now hobbling around enjoying life being looked after by Brian Wheelhouse.
